P4 STEM Workshops

P4 Children and School Councillors STEM Workshops

The children worked with Máire McNamee (Planning Consultant for the Mourne Mountains Gateway Project) on STEM fields in a fun and engaging way.  The aim of these sessions is to introduce our pupils to the diverse and exciting fields within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through interactive and hands-on activities designed to ignite their interest and creativity.

The P4 children took part in an engagement session which included drawing pictures of their ideal activities, building structures with various materials, creating simple art projects related to environmental themes, and engaging in basic engineering challenges using construction toys.

The children from the School Council embarked on a short 45 - 60 minute field study to Donard Park to explore topics such as access, design, environment, community, and tourism.
